Angelo is a teenager with anxiety. Bad anxiety. And it is not helped by a truckload of people showing up at his house and shooting at him. He gets so anxious that he sprouts wings from his back and tries to fly away. Rescued by the hyper-focused Crystal, he’s whisked away to a hideout where other kids—some grown now—have gained powers during their times of greatest stress.
But the safety of his new environment is illusory, as soon he is back on the run with his new friends—friends he’s not sure he can trust.
